The Influence of Activity of Endogenous Growth Substances on the Rooting in Herbaceous Cutting of Phlox paniculata L. cv. ¢¥ Rembrandt ¢¥

Abstract
This experiment was investigated to clarify influence of taking time and sectioning methods of cuttings on the rooting ability and to clarify relationship between rooting ability and changes in endogenous growth substances of cuttings from grown in spring and summer during herbaceous cutting of Phlox paniculata L. cv. `Rembrandt¢¥.
The percentage of rooted cutting, length of roots and number of roots were higher in spring cuttings than summer¢¥s.
On various sectioning positions of cuttings, the rooting ability was remarkably higher in cuttings attached lower basal parts in spring and summer, and the activity of endogenous auxins and root-promoting substances were resulted higher in cuttings with lower basal parts than others too.
At the rate of rooting during cutting period was more quickly rooted in spring than summer¢¥s and the activity of endogenous auxins and root-promoting substances were gradually increased cuttings with lower basal parts in summer¢¥s, but cuttings of upper half parts were not increased.
From these results, we found that the summer cuttings could be increased rooting ability by Cuttings with lower basal parts.
